We invite you to voluntary blood donation in front of the Super Vero market

On Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visit the transfusion car of the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia, which will be parked in front of Super Vero in New Belgrade (Bulevar Milutin Milankovića 86a) and become part of this noble mission.

Any healthy person between the ages of 18 and 65 who meets the basic health criteria can be a voluntary donor:

  • body weight above 50 kg
  • temperature below 37°C
  • pulse from 50 to 100 per minute
  • stable blood pressure
  • orderly lymph glands, liver and spleen
  • hemoglobin above 135 g/L in men and 125 g/L in women

During one year, our country needs 240,000 units of blood, and only 3 out of 100 inhabitants of Serbia regularly donate blood, although even 64% of the population can become a donor. Each unit can save three lives, but the giver himself also benefits. Regular blood donation improves circulation and can reduce the risk of heart disease. The period between blood donations is 3 months for men, 4 months for women.

The procedure lasts about half an hour and includes registration, filling out a questionnaire, measuring hemoglobin, a medical examination and the actual act of donating blood. Blood is taken from a vein in the crook of the elbow, after which the donors receive a meal.

Before arrival, rest, sleep and eat a light meal with enough water. After donating blood, it is recommended not to remove the bandage for two hours, drink more fluids and avoid physical exertion, alcohol, cigarettes and long standing.

Become a hero, donate blood and give someone a new chance at life.
