When the first visitors took bread and salt at the opening of the “Treasure of flavors from Serbia”, it was clear that this would not be just another autumn promotion in the market, but a celebration of local traditions with the authentic flavors of Serbia’s gastronomic treasures.

During the weekend 4th-5th October, the market in Novi Sad was a place where customers could try handicrafts — from embroidering traditional motifs to making souvenirs.

Special attention was drawn to the moment when the circuit spontaneously danced among the shelves. Dancers in national costumes started playing with folk music, and customers and employees quickly joined in. See how it looked by clicking on the link.

The idea behind the “Treasure of flavors from Serbia” is simple — to remind ourselves of the tastes and customs that were once an integral part of everyday life.
The website also has a new section “Serbian cuisine“, with somewhat forgotten traditional recipes that remind of former tastes.
A treasure trove of flavors from Serbia, Super Vera presents a rich assortment of domestic products from small farms, made according to old recipes or some new ones with an authentic taste. We highlight hand-made ajvar made from chopped peppers, dried mangosteen sausage, sweet quince with walnuts and other specialties that are rarely found on the table, but were once common in households throughout Serbia.
The most sought-after products will become part of the permanent assortment, and the number of small producers who get the opportunity to grow is increasing.
“Treasure of flavors from Serbia” thus became much more than a campaign — it is a movement that celebrates Serbian cultural heritage and transmits it to new generations.
