This cake is especially appealing with its whole pears peeking out from the soft batter. When a slice is cut, you can see the whole pear blending with the sweet and fragrant sponge.
Ingredients:
- 3-4 whole ripe pears
- 200 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 120 g butter (melted)
- 120 ml milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- A pinch of salt
- Cinnamon to taste (optional)
Preparation:
Peel the pears. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until you get a frothy mixture. Add the vanilla sugar and melted butter, then mix well. Gradually add the flour mixed with baking powder, a pinch of salt, and cinnamon, stirring continuously. Finally, add the milk and mix everything until you get a smooth batter. Grease a baking pan and pour in half of the batter. Stand the whole pears upright in the batter, evenly spaced. Then pour the remaining batter over the pears, ensuring they remain visible on the surface. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40-50 minutes. Once baked, let the cake cool before serving.
