From the lands of ancient civilizations whose achievements are woven into our present, we bring you Zeos! Beer made from refreshing and invigorating artesian water from the southern Greek peninsula of the Peloponnese is no longer only available to Greeks. Zeos, a triple silver medalist at the BTI World Beer Championship – the bright Zeos, and a double silver medalist also at BTI – the dark Zeos, as well as lager beer, are now available in the domestic market and can be purchased in supermarkets.
An interesting fact is that beer has actually been consumed since time immemorial! It is even mentioned in the oldest surviving legal document – the Code of Hammurabi, and it was widespread in various societies in ancient times. The ancient Greek word for beer was “zythos,” and today it comes from the land of gods, “the drink of the gods.”
Zeos beer comes from the heart of the historical Peloponnese peninsula – the region of Argolis, where one of the oldest cities in Europe is located, and the oldest polis of antiquity – Argos. In addition to historical landmarks, the brewery is surrounded by picturesque olive and orange groves and is open to all visitors who want to learn how Zeos – the Elixir of the Gods is made.
The production of Zeos began back in 1988 when Canadian David Wood devised a recipe for craft beer using hops, grains, and Peloponnesian water. Today, the technology has evolved, but the commitment to the quality that earned the trust of customers has not wavered. It is based on four principles:
- Recipes are carefully crafted, using only the highest quality ingredients – without chemicals or preservatives.
- We don’t rush production in pursuit of top-notch quality. We dedicate as much time and patience as necessary for good beer.
- Strictly adhere to cleanliness standards. We do not use clarifying agents, accelerants, chemicals, syrups, or preservatives.
- Beer is made from pure natural ingredients – spring water, hops, yeast, malt, and barley.
We offer light, dark, and lager beer with 5% alcohol. All beers are available in 330ml and 500ml bottles. While we recommend light beer with lamb and spiced Mediterranean dishes, lager beer pairs perfectly with fish, chicken, and beef dishes – and dark beer is ideal with almonds, and even dark chocolate.
